Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I put an alphabet set and a set of colors in the mail today. They should be there in a couple of days! My mom is sending a number set separately, but they should be there soon, too! I'll upload some pictures to the flickr site, and I'm posting about the project in my blog, here: http://web.me.com/redshoearts/Redshoearts/Blog/Entries/2010/5/13_now_i_know_my_abcs.html. -Aimee

I made a set of numbers (0-9) but then I looked at the pictures again and want to make sure I did it right. The link has the numbers and then the numbers spelled out, do I need that too? and a drawstring bag? I am happy to do whatever but I want to make sure I am doing it right. Thanks!

Aquarium gravel definitely works. I bought a big bag of it for $15. And I use my kitchen scale to fill the bags equally (7oz seems about right for my 5x5" bags.)

Aquarium gravel is what we recommend for the bean bags. Thank you for participating! The Nest, in the toolbar above, is a great place for you to ask questions like this of other Craft Hope folks. It's a wonderful community set up to exchange ideas about such issues.

P.S. At first I'd planned to use pony beads, but when I went to get some (I tried Walmart and Michael's) they were much more than I had anticipated and enough to fill a full set of beanbags, especially the alphabet or the larger numbers sets, could get pretty pricey. I guess it's still an option for those with a bigger budget, but unfortunately it's not viable for me.
